Obituary: Timothy P. Haney, St. Clair Shores Director of Finance

Timothy "Tim" Haney, 57, who was the finance director and treasurer for the city of St. Clair Shores, died June 7, 2013.

During his tenure with St. Clair Shores he received a number of personal and professional recognitions. The city has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the past 17 years from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). 

In 2012 he received an honorary lifetime membership with the Michigan Government Finance Officers Association. From 1998-99 he served as president of the association.

According to an obituary information provided by Wasik Funeral Home, he is the beloved husband of Patty; father of Emily (James) Christian, John and Thomas. Loving brother of Chris (Wendy) Haney, Mary Beth (Don) Barth and Lee Haney. Loving son of the late Larry and Betsy Haney. Loving brother in law of Mary (Jim) Spangenberg. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 11470 Thirteen Mile, Warren. Instate Wednesday 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope - St. Germaine Campus, 28301 Little Mack, St. Clair Shores.
