Police ID Body Pulled Clinton River In Macomb County: Sheriff

Officers pulled the body from roughly two feet of water in the middle of the river, where there was also a lot of debris, officials said.

MOUNT CLEMENS, MI — Police have identified the body they pulled Thursday from the Clinton River in Macomb County, according to the sheriff's office.

Officials said they have identified the man as 59-year-old Gregory Leino, of Eastpointe.

Medical examiner officials said they found nothing suspicious in its autopsy and determined that Leino drowned, officials said.

A 911 caller at 2:25 p.m. Thursday reported the body in the river, under the southbound Gratiot Avenue bridge, in Mount Clemens, officials said.
