Popular Chicken Restaurant Opens New Macomb County Location: Report

ROSEVILLE, MI — A popular chicken restaurant has opened a new Macomb County location, according to a report.

Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken opened its newest location Thursday at 32500 Gratiot Ave. in Roseville. The building was the former Dooley's Tavern, which closed down in 2022 after a bouncer was fatally shot.

Lee’s chicken is best-known for their chicken dishes served with side dishes including, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and baked beans. They're also known for their famous chicken sandwich, which features chipotle ranch and pickles on a brioche bun.

The new restaurant is the first Lee's Chicken in Macomb County and joins 10 other restaurants in Michigan, according to the company’s website.

Overall, there are 130 Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken locations in 12 states and Canada, the majority of which are individually owned and operated, according to the company’s website.
