Popular Macomb County Brewery Closing Down This Month
The owners didn't cite a specific reason for the closure, but said staying open was becoming more of a challenge after seven years.
ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — A popular St. Clair Shores brewery will permanently close at the end of August, according to the brewery's owners.
Jamex Brewing Co., located at 21721 Harper Ave., was best known for its small menu featuring ales, lagers, wine and ciders that were always changing. The brewery also held events, such as trivia nights and euchre tournaments.
The owners didn't cite a specific reason for the closure, but said staying open was becoming more of a challenge after seven years.

"At this point, the risk/reward of owning this business with an amazing family of 5 to support simply does not justify staying open," the owners wrote in a Facebook post.
Before the brewery shuts down for good, the owners plan to continue their scheduled events and encouraged gusts to come in and "throw back some brewskis" with them.
