5 Can't-Miss Sports Cars at This Year's Troy Traffic Jam

The Troy Traffic Jam, which is a special benefit for the Troy Historic Village now in its sixth annual celebration, is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 4.

More than 200 cars will be on site and judged for best in class awards as well as for special interest and best of show. In addition, the event (free for spectators, $15-20 for car participants) offers fun for all ages.

"The free event is located in the beautiful Columbia Plaza, a park like setting, with shade trees and the music of DJ Bob Steel playing great oldies," said Cindy Stewart, the city's community affairs director and organizer of Troy Traffic Jam. "There will also be food from the Gateway Deli and Tim Hortons Troy, a Wellness Tent courtesy of Henry Ford Health System and fun for the whole family on a Sunday afternoon."

So, what's got everyone excited about this year's event in particular? Stewart said that Troy Traffic Jam has expanded its field by including some of the most jaw dropping sports and race cars from the Lingenfelter, Penske and Fischer collections.

In addition to a Lamborghini 2008 Chevy Corvette, here are five models that you won't want to miss:

1. 2008 Chevy Corvette CG Z06, rebodied to look like a 1967 Corvette
2. 2010 Chevy Camaro rebodied to look like a 1970 Firebird Superduty
3. 2011 Ferrari 599 GTO
4. Split window 2014 Sting Ray Corvette
5. Four Penske race cars

Car participants can pre-register for $15 or register on site for $20.
