On Friday, June 21, 2013, the Tony Spagnola Memorial Golf Classic XI will be held at Sanctuary Lake Golf Course located at 1450 East South Boulevard in Troy. The day begins with lunch at 11 am, followed by a shotgun start at 12:30 pm and events conclude with a dinner at 5:30 pm. The cost is $500 for a foursome or $135 for individual golfers. The golf classic is name after the education advocate and champion, Tony Spagnola who died unexpectedly two years ago. He served for years on the Troy District School Board and as a member of the Troy Foundation. Tony’s son, Chef Andrew Spagnola, owner of “EAT.in”, will cater both lunch and dinner again this year. Profits from the outing will be used to fund innovative projects within the Troy School District. The Troy Foundation awarded over one hundred educational grants this year for teachers and students.
