Business Community Steps Up to Support Troy Schools

Joe Dwyer, owner of Tropical Smoothie Café (corner of Livernois and Maple Rd.), presented a check to Dr. Mathers, principal of Hamilton Elementary in Troy. Hamilton won $1,000 for submitting the most receipts from certain restaurants during the Troy Chamber’s “Step Up to the Plate for Troy Schools” program. This promotion, sponsored by Genisys Credit Union, offered diners 20% off their food bills over a five-day period. Participating restaurants included: Bailey’s Sports Grille, Brio Tuscan Grille, Buffalo Wild Wings, Granite City Food & Brewery, La Feast, Loccino Italian Grill & Bar, Papa Vino’s Italian Kitchen, Ridley’s Bakery Café, Shield's Restaurant Bar Pizzeria, Slab 'N Slice and Tropical Smoothie Café.
