Detroit Area Road Construction: Lane Closures Dot I-75, I-96

METRO DETROIT, MI — If you’re planning on driving pretty much anywhere in metropolitan Detroit this weekend, expect to see plenty of orange barrels and road construction. The closing of southbound M-5 in Novi on Saturday highlights the work scheduled this weekend by the Michigan Department of Transportation. Here’s a closer look:

M-5

• Oakland County - SB M-5 closed from Maple to 12 Mile road, Saturday 7 a.m. through mid to late May.
• M-5 SB from Pontiac Trail to Maple Road, one lane open and traffic detoured to Maple for closure.

I-94

• Wayne County - EB I-94 Service Drive off freeway, closed between Merriman and Middlebelt roads. EB-94 ramp to Merriman is open. EB-94 ramp to Middlebelt is closed. Merriman ramp to EB-94 is closed. Middlebelt ramp to EB-94 is open. Mon 7 a.m. Thursday through mid-May.

I-696

• Oakland County - EB I-696 ramp to Evergreen Rd, ramp closed Thursday 9 p.m. through Friday 5 a.m.

I-75

• Oakland County - NB I-75, Long Lake to Coolidge, two lanes open, single lanes closed Friday 7 a.m.- 3 p.m.
• Oakland County - SB I-75, Coolidge Road to Long Lake Road, two lanes open, single lanes closed Friday 9 a.m. through 6 p.m.

I-96

• Wayne County – M-8 ramp to WB I-96 local lanes, one lane open Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Wayne County - EB I-96 ramp to Livernois, ramp closed Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Wayne County - EB I-96 express lanes ramp to M-8, ramp closed Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Grand River

• Oakland County – EB/WB Grand River, Colgate to Grove, one lane open, Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday. Cross streets closed at Grand River: Cora, Hawthorn, Lilac, and Violet.

M-3 (Gratiot)

• Wayne County – NB M-3, French to I-94, one lane open Friday 7 a.m. through 11 a.m.
• Wayne County - SB M-3, French to I-94, one lane open Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

M-59 (Hall Rd)

• Macomb County – Dalcoma between Hayes and Garfield. NB Dalcoma is closing from 19 Mile to M-59. From Monday 6 a.m. through May 5, 2017. SB Dalcoma is open from M-59 to 19 Mile.
• Macomb County – Colony, between Hayes and Garfield, Colony has one lane open, Friday 12 a.m. through May 5, 2017. NB & SB traffic share one lane.

M-85 (Fort St)

• Wayne County – NB/SB M-85, Oakwood/Fort St bridge to Schaefer, one lane open Saturday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.

US-12 (Michigan)

• Wayne – EB/WB US-12 at Bus Loop/Denton, one lane open Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

US-24 (Telegraph)

• Wayne - NB US-24 from Ford Rd to Warren, one lane open Saturday at 5 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. Drivers should expect delays.
