Drunk Driving Suspect Has 2 Previous Convictions: Police

A Troy man was arrested after an accident on E. Big Beaver Road.

TROY, MI — A 42-year-old Troy man is facing multiple charges after recently leaving the scene of an accident on East Big Beaver Road, according to police reports. Witnesses told officers that the man was driving a 1995 Honda Accord when he caused an accident east of Livernois Avenue, reports indicate.

The Troy man was seen parking the car near a business and then walking away, reports said. Officers found him behind a nearby business and arrested him.

No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.

The man was then taken to the Troy Police Department’s headquarters and agreed to take a breath test. Reports said the results of two tests were 0.23 percent and 0.21 percent, both above Michigan’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Officers also discovered that the Troy man’s driving license was suspended. He was charged with Failure to Stop and Identify at an Accident, Driving While License Suspended – 2nd Offense, and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol – 2nd Offense, reports said.

Troy Police said he was convicted of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol in 2009 and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol in 2010.
