Teen Brothers from Troy Arrested, Charged with Assaulting Mother in Pontiac
Jesse and Joshua Kalchert of Troy were arrested Tuesday after allegedly assaulting their mother.

On Tuesday, two brothers from Troy were arrested in Pontiac by Oakland County Sheriff's Office deputies after allegedly assaulting their mother at her Pontiac home, according to a media release from the sheriff's office.
Jesse Ray Kalchert, 19, and his 18-year-old brother, Joshua Stephen Kalchert, were both arrested and lodged in the Oakland County Jail; they were arraigned today in front of Judge Michael Martinez of the 50th District Court. Both brothers, who also have other outstanding warrants, remained in the Oakland County Jail Wednesday evening, unable to post a $10,000 or 10 percent bond, according to the sheriff's office.
On Monday evening, deputies responded to a 911 call for a report of a verbal argument in the 300 block of Telegraph Road. Deputies were not able to determine if anybody was at the residence, nor could they locate the person who had called 911, according to the sheriff's office.
Early Tuesday morning, deputies again responded to a 911 call at the address, this time from the mother, who had called after the two suspects had fallen asleep, according to the sheriff's office.Â
According to the sheriff's office, Jesse Kalchert allegedly attempted to drag his mother into the back bedroom when deputies arrived, but she was able to scream. Deputies then kicked the door in, and both brothers were taken into custody.
The mother was not hurt and did not require any medical attention. Both brothers have extensive juvenile records, according to the sheriff's office.
Jesse Kalchert had outstanding warrants out of the 52-4 District Court in Troy for failing to appear on a receiving stolen property charge and for trespassing. He is also on probation until 2013 for assaulting a Troy police officer.
Joshua Kalchert currently has an outstanding warrant out of the 52-4 District Court in Troy for failing to appear on a disorderly conduct charge.
