Troy School District: 'All Troy Schools are Open'

Kids in Troy will have to wait a bit longer for the first snow day of the year, as the has announced it will remain open today, despite the weather.

"All schools are open and class is in session," Kerry Birmingham, spokesperson for the district, confirmed around 5:15 a.m.

Though estimated snow accumulations would be up to 8 inches in some areas by this evening, new predictions put snowfall totals at just 2-5 inches for areas south of M-59, according to the National Weather Service in Pontiac.

As of 5:30 a.m., Avondale Schools also remained open.
