Coulter Tops Mesiner In Oakland County Executive Primary

Democrat David Coulter will face Republican Mike Kowall in November.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — Voters in Oakland County have overwhelmingly chosen incumbent David Coulter for a chance at another go as county executive, according to voting data provided by the Oakland County Clerk's Office.

With 506 of 506 precincts recorded, Coulter tallied over 10,000 more votes than his challenger, the county's current treasurer, Andy Meisner, in the Democratic primary. Coulter recorded 109,599 votes to Meisner's 93,321, according to county records.

Coulter was face-off against Mike Kowall, a former state senator and Oakland County commission in November. Kowall won the Republican primary in a landslide, tallying 91,359 votes to 30,487 recorded by his opponent, Troy lawyer Jeffrey Nutt.
