Oakland County Sheriff Searching For Pine Knob Ski Resort Vandal
The man was described by deputies as a white male, approximately 25 years old with dark hair and a beard.
OAKLAND COUNTY, MI —The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in finding the individuals responsible for vandalism at a local ski resort.
The sheriff's office said in a news release Wednesday that deputies from the Independence Township Substation responded to the Pine Knob Ski Resort located at 7778 Sashabaw Road in Clarkston following the report of damaged property. Upon arrival, deputies said they met with an employee who said significant damage had been done by someone who trespassed and rode their dirt bike to the top of the ski hill.
Deputies said that around 2:30 p.m. Monday an unknown white male trespassed on the property and rode his dirt bike to the top of the ski hill. The man was seen loitering on the ski hill until 4 p.m. by security cameras, deputies said. During this time, he damaged several security gates and electronic eyes on the ski lifts, according to deputies. The man was seen holding one of the electronic eyes with the wires attached and threw it off the backside of the hill, deputies said. He was also seen carving ‘LOHS 2021’ into wood fencing in the immediate area, deputies said.

The damage is estimated at around $1,000, according to deputies.
The man was described by deputies as a white male, approximately 25 years old with dark hair and a beard. He was wearing black shorts, a black t-shirt and a black helmet in surveillance video, deputies said. The dirt bike looked to be smaller in nature and was black with green fenders, deputies said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK-UP. There is a $1,000 reward and you will remain anonymous, deputies said.
