Missing Ecorse Man Found in Troy; Man Receives Injuries Protecting Friend in Fight

A 72-year-old man who had been reported missing in Ecorse was found Thursday afternoon after he wandered into a business at 750 W. Maple Rd, according to a Troy Police report.
The man, who was disoriented, was transported to an area hospital for evaluation, and Ecorse Police were alerted.
Man injured protecting friend in fight at Oakland Mall
A 20-year-old Madison Heights man received minor injuries Wednesday evening after he stepped in between two men involved in a quarrel outside , according to a Troy Police report.

The man's friend was arguing with an acquaintance when the victim stepped between them to protect his friend; he was struck in the head and face, according to the report. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
Driver arrested after leaving crash
A 21-year-old Detroit woman was arrested Thursday evening after police said she and her passenger left the scene of a crash near Big Beaver and Crooks roads. The woman, who was not at fault in the crash, was rear-ended by another driver, according to a Troy Police report.

Officers located the two women in a nearby parking lot attempting to tape the bumper back onto the vehicle. When officers asked the women who had been driving, they hesitated, and then one of the two was identified as the driver, according to the report.
However, when the at-fault driver was asked to describe the driver of the other vehicle, she described the woman who had portrayed herself as the passenger in the vehicle; Troy Police determined the women had lied about who had been driving, according to the report.
Police then discovered the woman who had been driving had a suspended license; she was arrested for "Driving While License Suspended."
Man arrested for allegedly driving drunk with concealed weapons
A 25-year-old Sterling Heights man was arrested Wednesday night near Dequindre and 14 Mile roads after Troy Police stopped the man for a traffic violation.
The driver said he had a concealed pistol permit and had a handgun in his pocket and another in the door pocket of his vehicle, according to the police report. The man performed poorly on field sobriety tests; his preliminary breath test results were .18 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent.
The man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and concealed pistol license violation for being intoxicated while in possession of a handgun, according to the report. Both handguns were taken into evidence.
Thief smashes car window, steals purse at daycare
A woman picking up her child at Wednesday afternoon returned to her vehicle to discover someone had smashed in the driver's side window and stolen her purse, according to a Troy Police report.
The woman's purse contained credit cards, cash, two cell phones, a check book, her driver's license and a computer hard drive. When she called to cancel her cards, two had already been used at a gas station in Warren, according to the report.
