Mooning Leads to Assault; Teens Cited for Drinking at Somerset

Teens cited for drinking, carrying concealed weapons
Troy officers were dispatched to the area of Long Lake and John R roads Sunday evening for reports of two intoxicated juveniles. A 16-year-old from Troy and a 16-year-old from Detroit were found to be highly intoxicated and both in possession of Hennessy Cognac. One teenager was also in possession of two "Bear Grylls Fixed Blade" knives with 4.8-inch blades.
Both teenagers were petitioned to Probate Court for minor in possession of alcohol; the Troy teenager with the knife was also petitioned for carrying a concealed weapon.
Teens cited for possession of alcohol at Somerset
Five teenagers from Beverly Hills and Birmingham were discovered drinking alcohol in the parking lot of Saturday evening. Troy officers cited a 17-year-old male from Beverly Hills with minor in possession of alcohol. The other four teenagers, who were all 15 or 16 years old, were petitioned to Oakland County Probate Court. One of the teens was also in possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Teen assaults other teen with skateboard
A 19-year-old Troy man reports that a 17-year-old male Troy resident punched him in the head and swung a skateboard at him near the 2000 block of Haverford Drive Saturday night, according to Troy Police. On Sunday, the 17-year-old again punched the 19-year-old, who suffered a minor injury.
Troy Police officers spoke with the 17-year-old, who said the 19-year-old mooned him in the first incident and pushed him in the second incident. The case has been turned over to the Troy City Attorney.

Man changing tire arrested for operating while intoxicated
A 21-year-old Madison Heights man that was changing his tire near Stephenson and Maple early Sunday morning was arrested for operating while intoxicated after a Troy officer stopped to assist him.
The officer noticed the rim on the flat tire was bent, indicating it had hit something, and there was fresh mud and grass under the bumper. The driver failed sobriety tests and was given a preliminary breath test. The results were .13 percent; the legal limit in Michigan is .08.
Nintendo, school uniform stolen from vehicle
A vehicle owner reported Sunday morning that someone smashed his car window while he was parked at and stole a Nintendo, Nintendo games, a Wii game, an mp3 player and a school uniform.
