Shinola Launching Somerset Collection Store
Somerset Collection is getting a Shinola store. Find out when the Detroit-based company is opening in Troy.

TROY, MI — Shinola is coming to Troy’s Somerset Collection by the end of the month. The Detroit-based leather and lifestyle goods manufacturer recently announced the opening of its third metropolitan Detroit location. The 2,400-square foot store will be located on the second floor of Somerset Collection South.
“We are excited to continue to grow within the greater Detroit community,” Tom Lewand, CEO of Shinola, recently told the dbusiness magazine. “Detroit is, and will always be, our home, which makes us particularly proud of this new location. We are deeply grateful for all the support we continue to receive from this amazing community.”
Overall, it will be Shinola’s 19th store in the United States, the magazine reported. The Somerset store will showcase Shinola’s collection of watches, bicycles, leather goods, journals, jewelry, and audio equipment. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday, and until 7 p.m. on Saturday, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Founded in 2011, Shinola has 21 locations worldwide, with stores in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Washington, D.C., among others. Shinola is proud of its Detroit roots.
“The question isn't why you'd build a watch factory in Detroit, it's why you'd want to see American jobs go anywhere else,” Shinola says on its website. “Through four Detroit winters, we've been working to bring manufacturing jobs back to Detroit and back to this country. We build our goods to last, but of all the things we make, American jobs might just be the thing we're most proud of.”
