Troy, Athens Head into MHSAA Boys Basketball Playoffs

The Troy High and Troy Athens High boys varsity basketball teams are scheduled to tip off their postseason this week, following Monday night's action.

Both the Red Hawks and Colts earned a first-round bye in District 29 playoff action. Troy will host a doubleheader on Wednesday night.

Here's a look at the matchups, including some schools nearby:

District 29 at Troy

• Troy will play Waterford Mott (13-8), who beat Avondale in the first round, at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
• Troy Athens will play Pontiac (9-12), who beat Waterford Kettering at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

District 31 at Sterling Heights Stevenson

• Utica awaits Rochester (16-4), who beat Utica Ford in the first round. The semifinal game is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
• Sterling Heights Stevenson takes on Utica Eisenhower (11-8), who beat Rochester Stoney Creek, at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
