Troy Gas Prices Continue to Drop as Refinery Issues Eased

Troy's gas prices continued to fall from their springtime peak as refinery issues eased across the state, according to Dearborn-based AAA Michigan.

The lowest price reported on MichiganGasPrices.com this morning from Troy was $3.39 at Speedway (2980 John R.) and Mobil (1881 E. 14 Mile Rd.). The site, part of GasBuddy.com, reports real-time user-submitted data on gas prices at specific stations.

Gas is $3.49 at Kroger (4889 Rochester Rd.), BP (3785 Rochester Rd.), Shell (2039 E. Big Beaver Rd.), Speedway (880 E. Maple Rd.), Mobil (25 E. 14 Mile Rd.).

The average Detroit price is $3.57. The average statewide price is $3.64, down about 30 cents over the week, and 61 cents lower than a recent high of $4.25 on June 7.

Prices increased in Michigan following lingering issues at several Midwest refineries that supply gasoline to several neighboring state, but issues appear to be clearing up.

In Michigan, Flint's average price of $3.54 is the lowest compared to nine other metro areas in AAA's fuel gauge report. Jackson had the highest price at $3.72 per gallon.
