Troy Resident, 64, Dies in Car Crash in Orion Township
The accident occurred when the vehicle in which the woman was riding lost control and was struck by another vehicle.

A 64-year-old Troy woman died late Thursday morning in a car crash on Baldwin Road north of Judah Road in Orion Township, according to an Oakland County Sheriff's Office report.
The woman was a passenger in a 2006 Buick Lucerne driven by a 74-year-old Troy resident when the driver lost control, possibly due to snowy driving conditions, and went left of center, according to the report. The Buick was then struck by a 2004 GMC Envoy driven by a 63-year-old Clarkston resident.
The 64-year-old Troy woman was trapped in the Buick and had to be extricated by the Orion Township Fire Department. She was transported to POH Regional Medical Center in Pontiac, where she was pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m.

The 74-year-old driver of the Buick was also transported to POH Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in serious but stable condition, according to the report. The 63-year-old driver of the GMC Envoy was transported to St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, where she was listed in stable condition.
All three people were wearing their seatbelts, and alcohol is not a factor in the crash, according to the sheriff's office.

The victim's name was being withheld and the crash remained under investigation.
