Highland Teen Charged As Adult in Sexual Assault
The following information was supplied by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Highland Substation. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

Brandon Alexander Markes, 16, was arraigned Thursday in 52-1 District Court on one count of assault with intent to murder, one count of assault by strangulation, one count of criminal sexual conduct first degree and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Markes' bond was set at $1.2 million cash and he remains in custody at Children's Village. He's scheduled to be back in court April 24.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, Markes is accused of raping a 15-year-old Highland girl at knife point.

The report filed with the department states that the girl's mother called 911 to report the rape. Deputies were given a detailed description and Markes was subsequently taken into custody and interviewed.
The report states that evidence was also collected from the scene of the crime as well as Markes' home.

The girl was transported to the hospital and treated for her injuries, then released.
Markes faces up to life in prison if convicted on all counts.
