Jewelry, Other Valuables Stolen from Highland Home

Police at the Highland Oakland County Sheriff Substation are searching for the individual responsible for a burglary and forced entry around 9:05 p.m. Sept. 3 at a home on the 4000 block of Petrel Court, according to a police report. The homeowner told police that upon returning from vacation up north she noticed her jewelry box was missing, the report said. The items reported stolen include women's watches, a gold pendant and necklace, a one carat diamond ring, earrings, an ankle bracelet and a rosary. Police have no suspects.
Several Items Missing from Highland Man's Home
Police started their search around 4:11 p.m. Sept. 8 for the individual responsible for a burglary at a home on the 800 block of West Livingston Road, according to a police report. The homeowner told police he noticed on Thursday, Sept. 6 that items were missing from his home, such as his deceased wife's wedding ring, the report said. He said two laptops, an iPod and handgun were not stolen although they were in plain view, according to the report. The homeowner said he keeps the front and back doors locked, but he does not lock the door from the garage and several of his son's friends know the garage door code, the report said.Â
Items reported to be stolen include a Kodak camera, $100 in cash, a woman's gold wedding band, a man's gold wedding band, a men's gold Seiko watch and a Blackberry phone. The homeowner wants to prosecute his son's friends, the report said. Police have no official suspects and the case remains open.Â
