Man Cited After Hitting Utility Pole, Leaving the Scene

The following information was supplied by White Lake Township police. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

A 23-year-old Waterford man received a citation from White Lake Police for leaving the scene of an accident, and driving without due care and caution after striking a utility pole in White Lake.

The accident occurred at 4 a.m. on Feb. 24. According to the report, the man was driving along Cooley Beach Drive near Casa Loma when he lost control and struck the pole.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the car up against the pole, but the driver was gone, it had appeared he left the scene on foot.

The report states that the man came to the police station on Feb. 25 around noon after he went to the scene and found his car missing.

Police gave him the citations at the station and sent him on his way.
