Oakland County Hits $105K Fantasy 5 Jackpot: MI Lottery

WIXOM, MI — An Oakland County man, who plays the same set of Fantasy 5 numbers every week, finally hit the jackpot, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

Matthew Mudie, 61, of Wixom, matched the Fantasy 5 numbers (01-08-10-16-31) in the Nov. 15 drawing to win the $105,000 jackpot, according to lottery officials.

He bought his winning ticket at Benstein Market, located at 1050 Benstein Road in Walled Lake, according to lottery officials.

Mudie said he plays the same set of numbers that are made up of special dates every Monday for the entire week.

"The morning after the drawing, I scanned my ticket using the Lottery app and was amazed to learn I had won the jackpot," Mudie said.

A few years ago, Mudie said his wife won $30,000 on a pull tabs ticket and told him that he needed to top that prize.

"Well, that day has finally come!"

With his winnings, he plans to complete home improvements and pay bills, according to lottery officials.

Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at a retailer or online at MichiganLottery.com until 7:08 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
