Free Trial Week With the Penguins Swim Club Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in White Lake and Highland.

Starting May 20, try a free trial week with the Huron Valley Penguins Swim Club. Join the team and coaching staff for a week to see how your child likes it. The coaches will help place swimmers into the correct ability level group and answer any questions you might have about the team.

  • Athletes compete at the Oakland County Special Olympics 

More than 300 athletes participated in the Oakland County Special Olympics and enjoyed a series of track and field events under sunny skies. Do you have photos from the event? Add them to the gallery.

The Art on the River Festival was created by the Huron Valley Council for the Arts to provide an opportunity for the community at large to experience and interact with all aspects of the arts.With music, storytelling , artistic demonstrations and culinary options on site we seek to create an unique and inviting environment for visitors to enjoy.

4. Save the date

  • Downtown Milford hosts fundraiser to support local woman’s group

The Clothing Cove of Downtown Milford will host a special shopping night from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 14, to help raise funds for the Zonta Club of Milford, a service organization for women executives work together to improve the legal, educational, economic and professional status of women through projects and programs, locally and globally.

5. Last chance

Time is running out to buy your tickets. Hear U-M play-by-play announcer and former football player Jim Brandstatter regale us with his exciting stories of U-M sports while also supporting a scholarship fund and enjoying a great dinner with fellow alumni and fans. Raffle for great prizes like a football signed by Coach Brady Hoke. Tickets on website.
