Two Men Charged for Highland Home Invasion

Deputies say a tattoo caught on security camera footage led to the arrests.

A 19-year-old Highland resident and 23-year-old Lyon Township resident were arrested and charged with first degree home invasion and larceny from a vehicle following an incident in Highland.

According to the Milford Times, both men were suspects in a home invasion that took place in Highland July 17 at home on the 2100 block of Canterwood.

The article states a chainsaw, drill and two leaf blowers were among the items taken from the home's attached garage. An iPad, GPS, Nintendo DS games were taken from the vehicles parked in the garage.

The home had security cameras and the two men were caught on video during the break-in, the article states. While the faces of the two men weren't on tape, a very distinct tattoo was caught on film. That tattoo was run through a database of prior offenders and one of the suspects was identified.

The men were arraigned July 20, the articles states, and bonds were set at $75,000 and $50,000.
