Don't Put Away Your Shovel or Boots! Snow, Ice Storm May Be on Its Way

Prepare the ice scrapers. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for southeast Michigan beginning Sunday afternoon and running through Monday morning.

In the Dearborn and Downriver communities, expect to see the big three—snow, freezing rain and sleet—after noon Sunday. Chance of precipitation is about 90 percent, with about 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet expected.

Ring in Presidents Day with more snow until about 1 p.m., probably just about a half inch. There's a 60 percent chance of snow that day.

The ice and snow will likely create hazardous travel conditions throughout the area. So stay safe and remember, spring is on its way!
