Popular Wayne County Seafood Restaurant Abruptly Closes

The restaurant decided to shut down after its signature chef decided to move on to a new adventure​.

WYANDOTTE, MI — A popular downriver seafood restaurant abruptly closed over the weekend.

H20 Seafood, located along Biddle Avenue in Wyandotte, permanently shut its doors Sunday after its signature chef decided to move on to a new adventure.

"Hello everyone, this post serves as our final farewell and goodbye to all patrons of H2O Seafood," the post read. "This journey has been truly amazing, filled with countless great times, shared laughter and tears, and exceptional cuisine crafted by our signature chef, David Wood. Unfortunately, this marks our last hurrah."

The restaurant staff thanked the community for its support over the years.

Wood told the Detroit Free Press that he is moving on to work for Davidson Hospitality’s properties on Mackinac Island.

"I will be the general manager overseeing food and beverage programs," he told the outlet.
