Tongue’s to Offer More for Your Tongues in Wyandotte

There are about 10,000 taste buds on the human tongue, according to ThinkQuest.org. Tongue's Coffee owner Tim Tongue means to offer something for all of them.

Tongue will soon be adding a sandwich menu to his restaurant's usual coffee offerings.

Pantrons will be able to order several different sandwiches ranging from $4 to $8 including Italian, turkey, roast beef and vegetarian -- to name a few.

"(Tongue's) sandwiches should be enough to feed two people," said Tongue.

Sandwich purchases will also include a small bag of chips.

Frequent customer Alex Morgan, employee at The Candy Shop, has tried many of the sandwiches and said his favorites are, "The ones that Tim makes."

Tongue said he expects to serve his first sandwich, officially, within the next two weeks.

Patrons will also be able to order soft drinks, breakfasts, salads and desserts, as well as coffee, of course.

Tongue plans to purchase fresh vegetables for sandwiches and salads at the Wyandotte Farmers Market every Thursday throughout the summer.

"The salads are huge," Tongue said.
