Wyandotte Piano Teacher Needs Help Restoring Rare Steinway
Rubi Martinez-Bernat picked up the 1872 instrument in May 2014 and says it's worth about $12,000.

A Wyandotte piano teacher is looking for help to restore a rare 1872 Steinway square grand piano she picked up last summer, according to a News-Herald report.
Rubi Martinez-Bernat, who also is the music director for Detroit’s St. Gabriel Catholic Church, acquired the piano from a Pleasant Ridge couple in May 2014, the report stated. She told the News-Herald that the piano is worth about $12,000, but it could fetch an even higher price if it was restored
“It’s out of tune, but it’s playable,” she told the news outlet. “She’s a lot of work—she has the original strings, but I’m afraid if I tune them, they will pop.”
