MINNESOTA — If you had friends or family over to celebrate the New Year, you may be looking for a coronavirus testing site to stay safe.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s holiday guidance recommends gatherings with multiple households should take additional measures like getting tested and avoiding crowded indoor places before traveling.

Anyone who tested positive for COVID-19 should not travel until they end isolation, the CDC said. Public health officials are encouraging people to get vaccinated against the coronavirus to protect young children and others who are not eligible or have not received a vaccine.

Testing sites at the Minneapolis Convention Center and Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul have expanded holiday hours for the first week of 2022.

The convention center will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. The Roy Wilkins Auditorium is scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

Both sites will return to normal hours Jan. 10.
