Gov. Walz: Flags To Be Flown Half-Staff To Honor Buffalo Victims

"As we grieve this senseless tragedy, let us also honor their work to keep Minnesotans safe and healthy," the governor said.

ACROSS MINNESOTA, MN — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz ordered Minnesota flags to fly at half-staff to honor the loss of medical assistant, Lindsay Overbay, and the other four victims who were injured at the Allina Clinic in Buffalo this week.

"As we grieve this senseless tragedy, let us also honor their work to keep Minnesotans safe and healthy," the governor said via his official Twitter account.

The order is effective immediately and will last until sunset on Sunday, Feb. 14.

Gregory Ulrich, 67, of Buffalo was arrested in connection with Tuesday's shooting at the health clinic. He was formally charged Thursday. Those charges include second-degree intentional murder, four counts of attempted first-degree premeditated murder and possession of explosive or incendiary devices.

Three of the victims remained hospitalized Wednesday, with one in critical condition, one in fair condition and the other in good condition. The fourth surviving victim was discharged hours after the attack.

Overbay, the fifth victim who died from her wounds, was shot once in the abdomen and the bullet passed through her liver and spine before exiting through her back, according to court documents.
