MN Is 3rd-Best State For Women's Equality: Report

The personal finance website WalletHub Monday released its report on the Best & Worst States for Women's Equality in 2024.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota is the third-best state in the nation when it comes to women's equality, according to a new study.

The personal finance website WalletHub Monday released its report on the Best & Worst States for Women's Equality in 2024.

To determine where women receive the most equal treatment in American society, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 17 key metrics, including the gap between female and male executives, the disparity in unemployment rates for women and men, and the income gap.

Here's how Minnesota performed (1=Best; 25=Avg.):

  • Overall Rank: 3rd
  • 3rd – Earnings Gap
  • 27th – Work Hours Gap
  • 1st – Educational Attainment Gap (among Advanced Degree Holders)
  • 21st – Minimum-Wage Workers Gap
  • 1st – Unemployment Rate Gap
  • 27th – Entrepreneurship Rate Gap
  • 5th – Political Representation Gap
