MN Family Turns Deer Stand Into Lefse Drive-Thru
Customers hungry for lefse will have to act fast, as this Saturday's drive-thru hours are the last of the season.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, MN — A deer stand in western Minnesota has been converted to a drive-thru selling lefse for the holiday season, according to reports.
The drive-thru is open 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays on County Road 1 between Evansville and Melby in Douglas County. Lefse is $6 for three rounds.
“Only in Minnesota,” Jan Vibond told KARE 11 as she pulled up for lefse.

The setup was started out of necessity during the coronavirus pandemic by Kim Englund, who had previously been selling her Norwegian potato bread at events, according to the Star Tribune.
“That’s just Kim,” her husband, Casey Englund, told KARE 11. “She comes up with crazy ideas all the time.”

The drive-thru has kept the Englund family busy, KARE 11 reported, noting they have used 1,000 pounds of potatoes in under two months.
But customers hungry for lefse will have to act fast, as this Saturday’s drive-thru hours are the last of the season, according to the outlet.
