• Charges filed against woman for crash that caused outage (echopress.com) — Hundreds of Carlos and Alexandria-area residents lost natural gas service after an alleged impaired-driving crash damaged an overflow pipe, prompting safety warnings and opening Carlos City Hall as a warming center. A 42-year-old Alexandria woman now faces two gross misdemeanor DWI charges in Douglas County District Court, with her first appearance set for December 17.
   

• Girls Basketball: Alexandria takes command in first half to top Moorhead (echopress.com) — Alexandria’s girls basketball team stayed unbeaten with a 58-45 home win over Moorhead, powered by tough defense and balanced scoring at Alexandria Area High School. Local standouts like McKinley Hoelscher, Riley Beyer, and Scotland Brown led the way as the Cardinals overcame foul trouble and turnovers to move to 4-0 and prepare to host Fergus Falls next.
