3 Apple Valley, Rosemount Bakers Serve Up Winning Treats at Minnesota State Fair
Top cake and dinner roll entries were baked by Apple Valley residents, while a Rosemount woman made top-ranked sweet rolls.

The results of the baking contests at this year's Minnesota State Fair highlight residents who are talented and prolific in the kitchen.
First-place finishes include a dark bundt cake from Apple Valley's Mary Johnson, whole-grain dinner rolls from Apple Valley's Fay Peterson and fruit-or-nut sweet rolls from Rosemount's Sue Smart. Each woman entered and placed in multiple other categories, as well.
