33-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed In South Twin Cities Metro

Alcohol was not involved in the incident, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — A 33-year-old Farmington man was killed Tuesday while walking across a highway in Waterford Township.

Just after 5:30 p.m., a 2000 Peterbilt dump truck was going northbound on Highway 3 at 321st Street, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. A pedestrian entered the roadway from the east and was struck by the truck, authorities said.

The pedestrian — identified as Eric Bartholomew Prinsen — died at the scene, according to investigators. Alcohol was not involved in the incident, authorities said.

The dump truck driver — a 50-year-old from Northfield — was not injured in the crash.
