44-Year-Old Charged In Violent Inver Grove Heights Bank Robbery

Two people entered the bank, restrained two employees with zip-ties, and stole more than $78,000 last month, according to police.

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MN — A 44-year-old man was charged Friday in the violent robbery of an Inver Grove Heights bank, Dakota County Attorney Kathy Keena announced.

Deundrick D. McIntosh faces one count of first-degree aggravated robbery and two counts of kidnapping. Police are still looking for another suspect in the robbery.

"I extend my best wishes to the victims as they work towards recovering and healing from this very traumatic experience," Keena said in a statement.

"Investigative efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend the second suspect. If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact the Inver Grove Heights Police Department."

The robbery happened at Vermillion State Bank on Dec. 22, police said.

Two people entered the bank, restrained two employees with zip-ties, and stole more than $78,000 in cash and coins, according to the criminal complaint. One of the employees suffered bruising and scratches, police said.

Among the stolen cash were "bait bills," money that the bank can trace using serial numbers, according to investigators.

Investigators later found the car the robbers used to get away from the scene, the criminal complaint states. Inside the vehicle, officers found coins, masks, and a black bag that had been described by the bank employees, according to police.

Officers later recieved a tip from someone who believed Mcintosh was involved in the robbery, according to the criminal complaint. The witness reporteding seeing Mcintosh with a backpack full of cash and loose change on the day of the robbery, as well as wearing clothing that matched the suspect descritpion, authorities said.

Mcintosh also spent unusual sums of money in the days after the bank robbery, according to police.

On Jan. 11, 2023, police were able to locate Mcintosh, searched him, and found one of the bait bills, the criminal complaint states.

More money was recovered during a search of Mcintosh's home, including three more bait bills, authorities said.
