5 Finalists Named for Apple Valley Police Chief
City officials anticipate they will select a new chief in late July or early August.

The has announced its five finalists for its open chief of police position, of 39 initial applicants for the job. According to a press release, they are (in alphabetical order by last name):
- William Blair Anderson, chief deputy at Carver County Sheriff's Office
- Shaun LaDue, director of government programs compliance investigations at UnitedHealthcare and formerly chief of police at City of Owatonna
- Jeffrey McCormick, chief of police at City of Cannon Falls
- Jon Rechtzigel, acting chief of police at City of
- Eric Werner, police captain at City of Burnsville
Finalist interviews are slated for mid-July, with the selection of the new chief anticipated by late July or early August.

“We are very pleased with the quality and talent of the finalists for the position," said City Administrator Tom Lawell in the release. “We look forward to the next step in the process to determine which candidate will be the best fit to lead our Police Department into the future."
