5 Things Rosemount Residents Should Know: Adult Scavenger Hunt, Help the Library, and Wine/Beer Tasting Event

Things to know today, Oct. 28

  1. The National Weather Service is predicting mostly cloudy skies to start the day, gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 50 and southwest winds from 7 to 14 mph. Tonight’s low will dip to 29, with mostly clear skies and northwest winds from 6 to 8 mph.
  2. Today’s the deadline to register for the Rosemount Parks and Recreation Department’s second annual fall adult scavenger hunt. Teams will spend a night on the town completing crazy tasks and finding obscure objects on Nov. 6. Assemble your own team, with at least three people and no more than six; all team members must be 21 or older. The cost per team is $35. For more information, call (651) 322-6000.
  3. The Rosemount High School library is conducting a fundraiser through Nov. 28. Cash donations are being sought to help the library update its nonfiction collection and its science-related DVDs to support the school’s new science curriculum. The library also hopes to introduce downloadable young adult e-books and upgrade its young adult fiction and graphic novel collections. To donate or for more information, click here.
  4. A to benefit 360 Communities will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at 16965 Brandtjen Farm Drive in Lakeville. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door; for more information, call (952) 431-5100.
  5. Today is National Plush Animal Lover’s Day and National Chocolate Day. I think the appropriate thing would be to buy your teddy bear a candy bar. You get the idea.
