8-Year-Old Prior Lake Girl Killed In Bike-Vehicle Crash: Examiner

Chyanne Aiyana Rios was riding her bike Monday evening when she was struck by a car, authorities said.

PRIOR LAKE, MN — An 8-year-old Prior Lake girl died after she was struck by a vehicle while riding her bike in town, according to authorities.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Dakota Trail and Orion Road Northwest, police said.

The girl, Chyanne Aiyana Rios, was transported to St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee. She died about an hour later, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

The examiner said the manner of death was an "accident," and the cause was "multiple blunt force injuries due to bicycle versus motor vehicle collision."

According to the Star Tribune, the driver — who was in a pickup truck at the time of the crash — was arrested at the scene. Charges have not been filed.
