Apple Valley Fire Department Hiring 2012 'Rookie Class'

The is hiring volunteer/paid on-call firefighters for its 2012 class.

The application process can be completed on the city's website, and should be open until May 18.

A few of the main minimum qualifications include:

• Age 18 or older
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Must live within four minutes of an Apple Valley fire station

An associate's degree in public safety or a related field is preferred.

Orientation, written exam and interviews are scheduled for June, and approximate start date would be Sept. 13.
