Name Chosen for New Dakota County Park

Dakota County's newest park will be named Whitetail Woods Regional Park, the Dakota County Physical Development Committee unanimously decided.

The new regional park, located in Empire Township, has 456-acres of wooded hills and a small lake and wetland area. Along with the new park name, the Dakota County Board of Commissioners will consider Empire Lake as the official name for the lake.

The park should open in 2013; the board is slated to approve the name in February.
