Apple Valley, Eastview Swimmers Headed to State Meet

Several swimmers beat the state-qualifying time at Friday's section final meet.

Several and girls swimmers advanced to the Class AA state tournament by achieving qualifying times in Friday's section final races, held at Hidden Oaks Middle School in Prior Lake.

Apple Valley's Katherine Wright placed first in the 100-yard backstroke final, with a time of 58.98.

The state meet is scheduled for Nov. 17-19 at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

  • 100 breaststroke; McDonald; second place, 1:08.30

Eastview—team ranked fourth of eight in the section

  • 200 medley relay; Sophie Runing, Evelyn Johnson, Kristin Podratz, Kelsey Deinhammer; fourth place, 1:51.97
  • 100 butterfly; Podratz; sixth place, 59.42
  • 200 freestyle relay; Deinhammer, Podratz, Johnson, Leah Anderson; fourth place, 1:40.22
