Apple Valley Fashion Bug Store to Close

The store was pegged to remain open amid other closings last fall, but now will close with all other Fashion Bug stores.

Apple Valley's store, along with all other Fashion Bug stores, will close, according to a report from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.

Ascena Retail Group Inc., the new parent company of Fashion Bug, plans to close all 600 remaining stores nationwide, the article says. The Apple Valley Fashion Bug is one of six remaining in the Twin Cities.

In the fall, amid closings of 120 Fashion Bug stores nationwide, the Apple Valley Fashion Bug was slated to remain in business.

Charming Shoppes Inc., the former parent company of Fashion Bug, Lane Bryant and Catherine's Plus Size, had announced in March 2011 that it would close 240 unprofitable stores in 2011, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
