Apple Valley Man Charged With Assault With iPod
Zachary Jacob Bretzman is accused of throwing an iPod at his girlfriend's face, breaking bones around her eye.

An Apple Valley man has been charged with assault after police say he threw an iPod at his girlfriend and broke the bones around her eye.
Zachary Jacob Bretzman, 20, faces a felony charge of third-degree assault, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
According to the criminal complaint, were called to a hospital Oct. 30 after a woman showed up to be treated for broken facial bones.

Police spoke to a nurse, who told them that the woman said that during an argument with Bretzman, he threw an iPod at her and hit her in the eye.
The woman told police that she had been at Bretzman’s home, and they began shouting at one another. Bretzman threw the iPod at her face with such force that she fell to the ground, according to her statements in the criminal complaint.

Bretzman said he had argued with the woman and that he threw the iPod at her, according to the complaint. He also said he sent her several text messages afterward, apologizing for hitting her, the complaint says.
Bretzman, who was arrested Oct. 30, is free on bond.
