Apple Valley Man Charged With Exposing Himself to School Bus Driver
Police say David Lee Bonkamp was driving around the city without pants on June 6 when he exposed himself to a District 196 bus driver.

An Apple Valley man faces criminal charges after allegedly driving around the city with no pants on and exposing himself to a school bus driver in June.
David Lee Bonkamp, 59, is charged with three misdemeanors in relation to the June 6 incident: indecent exposure, creating a public nuisance and public indecency.
According to the criminal complaint, a bus driver for the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan school district told that she was driving a bus south on Gardenview Drive on June 6 when she pulled up beside a car waiting to turn left onto 140th Street.

The driver said she glanced down into the car and saw that the driver—later identified as Bonkamp—was not wearing pants, according to the complaint. She said he had his right hand on the car’s shift knob and his left hand covering his genitals, but as she watched, he moved his left hand and exposed himself.
Bonkamp turned left onto 140th Street, and the bus driver made note of his car’s license plate number, which she provided to police.

Officers contacted Bonkamp, and when police asked him about the incident, he allegedly denied exposing himself to the bus driver, but added, “If she thinks I did, then I did,” according to the complaint.
Bonkamp is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Aug. 24 in Dakota County District Court in Apple Valley.
