Apple Valley PD Offers Annual $1.5K Bonus To Employees: Report
The bonuses aim to recruit and retain officers.
APPLE VALLEY, MN — Apple Valley Police Department began an annual $1,500 bonus this year in hopes of recruiting and retaining employees, according to a report by The Minneapolis Star Tribune.
The bonus is prorated over 26 pay periods, and employees will get the bonus as long as they stay with the department, the report said.
The department recently had some officers leave the department, either quitting the profession or joining a state agency, the publication reported.

The department also recently chose Captain Nick Francis as its replacement for Chief Rechtzigel, who recently retired.
