Apple Valley, Rosemount Students Win Trip to Washington from Dakota Electric

The electric cooperative will pay for a week-long trip to Washington, D.C., for two students from Apple Valley and Rosemount high schools.

Two local high school students will tour the nation's capital this June in a week-long trip sponsored by Dakota Electric Association.

Zachary Eichten, a Rosemount High School student, and Miranda Lawell, a student at Apple Valley High School, were chosen by the electric company for the trip.

The students will meet their elected officials; visit tourist attractions, including the Smithsonian, the FBI Building and the Vietnam Memorial; and learn about government partnerships with electric cooperatives.
