Apple Valley Shooting: Man Charged With Assault, Gun Possession
The shooting happened outside Cowboy Jacks in Apple Valley, police said.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — A 41-year-old St. Paul man was charged Monday in a non-fatal shooting that happened outside of Cowboy Jacks in Apple Valley.
Corey S. Ryman shot and injured a 20-year-old man on Jan. 15, according to police. He faces charges of assault and felon in possession of a weapon.
If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.

Ryman was previously convicted of drug crimes, assault, and felon in possession of a firearm.
On Jan. 15 at around 2:20 a.m., police received a report of a shooting that happened near a bar in Apple Valley. Witnesses said the shooting happened in the bar parking lot, but the people involved had left, according to the criminal complaint.

About an hour later, police learned a man with a gunshot wound in his leg was being treated at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, authorities said.
The man's girlfriend gave officers a description of the suspect, according to the criminal complaint. While she and her boyfriend were walking to their car, she heard "biker types" yelling near the bar, the criminal complaint continued.
Ryman walked away from the group and reappeared as the couple approached their car, according to police. The boyfriend moved in front of the girlfriend, the criminal complaint states.
Ryman then pointed a gun at the boyfriend, chased him, and later shot him, according to authorities.
The woman drove her boyfriend to Fairview Ridges Hospital, police said.
