APPLE VALLEY, MN — Apple Valley residents can drop off their unused prescriptions at the city's police station on April 30, which is the DEA's National Drug Take Back Day.

The police station lobby will be open to accept unused prescriptions from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., the Apple Valley Police Department said.

Accepted items include:

  • Capsules
  • Blister packs
  • Liquids
  • Patches
  • Powders
  • Inhalers
  • Creams/gels
  • Vials
  • EpiPens
  • IV bags

The medications should be kept in their original containers, according to police.

Items that won't be accepted include needles, thermometers and other non-medical items, police said.
